EIGHT GRADUATES RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS FROM LAKEVIEW VILLAGE
Eight graduating high school seniors who worked and/or volunteered at Lakeview Village, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Lenexa, recently received Catlett Scholarships at a ceremony honoring all graduating seniors with ties to the community.
“These young people went through an elaborate application process,” said Jack Miller, Lakeview resident and chair of the Scholarship Committee. Their GPA had to be at least 3.0; they had to write an essay, be interviewed by five judges, and submit a list of all their other extracurricular activities. They are an impressive group of youths.”
Winners include Lillian Williams, Anne Nzuki, Helen Ndunga, Rebecca Holthouse, Jona Jonjic, and Stephanie Jordahl, Mia Jonjic, and Kelsey O'Hara.
The scholarship is named in honor of Richard Catlett, recently retired President/CEO of Lakeview Village, who served Lakeview Village admirably as Board member then chief executive for 33 years.
The eight seniors received a total of $7,500.
